(Annie Ceramics.)

An identity as precise and personal as handmade ceramics.

Annie Ceramics needed an identity that captured the precision and personality of handmade ceramic work — without looking generic, rustic or craft-fair obvious.

(Essence.)

Gestural yet precise — the hand of the craft in every mark.

(Approach.)

The logo is a stylised A in a circle — a quiet reference to the potter's wheel, working at any scale. The Kalakala typeface brings gestural energy and deliberate asymmetry, matching the hand of the craft. Motion animations bring the mark to life: a write-on sequence and a typographic piece showing Kalakala in action.

(Typography.)

Each letterform in the Kalakala typeface has an alternate, designed to be used side by side. It blends contemporary style with typewriter script and echoes the quirks of handwriting: gestural and sleek, with circular forms interrupted by sharp edges and asymmetry.
